Sometimes calm and full of longing, sometimes stormy and lively - as versatile as the sea: Dúo El Mar interprets instrumental pieces and songs from Ireland, Scotland, Galicia and Brittany in a fresh way. In their acoustic duo concerts, Ella Zlotos (flutes, vocals, harmonium) and Maria Nikola (harp, vocals) take the audience on a musical journey to distant worlds and bygone times. In October 2024, the debut album “Tunes of Tide and Time” was released with a selection of traditional tunes and songs that the two musicians have collected, arranged and recorded over the course of their travels through various Celtic-influenced regions of Europe. Look forward to an atmospheric evening with tragic and heart-warming stories and music to dream to.

Joe Ward from Ireland (vocals, guitar) and Annette Homann (fiddle), who was born in Hanover and now lives in Grünefeld/Brussels, met, how could it be otherwise, in a Berlin Irish pub. Since then, they have been playing Irish, American and English traditional songs as well as more contemporary songs with a folk touch together as the duo “Homeward”. Joe's characteristic voice, Annette's virtuoso fiddle improvisations and the irrepressible stage energy of the two form an exciting contrast to the dreamy melodies of Dúo El Mar.
