Do we look at places differently when we know what happened there? This question is the focus of the exhibition “Burnt Places - Book Burnings of 1933”. The focus is on photographs of today's burnt places, inviting viewers to engage with the history. The photographs are complemented by background information on the National Socialist book burnings and the authors concerned. There were over 160 book burnings in Germany at the time, only a few of which are still known today - a good reason to take a closer look at this part of history.

The exhibition will be open to the public in the IBZ stairway until April 15, 2025 (daily from 9am to 8pm).
